Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2

The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.
There were three separate part 1 crimes reported in the 28000 block of Industry Drive. A company reported a 2002 Chevy work truck stolen and driven approximately 40 feet before being abandoned due to a broken transmission. A second company reported an attempt theft of Ford work van. The vehicle ignition was unsuccessfully hotwired. The same company reported 20 gallons of diesel fuel taken from another vehicle. A third company in the same location had a rear metal door cut open. Suspects entered the location and crawled to an interior office to avoid motion detectors. The business reported nothing missing.
The Park’s Bureau reported a bicycle theft from Castaic Lake.
Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
