Performing arts programs in the Hart School District schedule a number of events and programs throughout the holiday season that are open to the public at little cost. Please note whether advance tickets or reservations are required, as some events do sell out. Contact the sponsoring school for further information as noted. All these events are fundraisers benefiting the program involved.

The events are listed by date:

December 1 – Sierra Vista Choir in the Golden Valley High School Theater at 7 pm. Tickets $5 on sale at the door. For more information contact Brianna Mowry at bmowry@hartdistrict.org .

December 2 – Rancho Pico Junior High School Band and Orchestra Winter Concert. This concert is full of winter fun! All bands and orchestras will perform in this concert. Holiday and classical selections including Leroy Anderson’ Sleigh Ride will be performed. Concert is at 7 pm in the Rancho Pico MPR. Tickets: $5 adults, $3 children (all proceeds go directly to the music program). December 4 – Rancho Pico Junior High School Choir Fall / Winter concert. The Rancho Pico choir will present this concert at 7 pm in the Rancho Pico MPR. Tickets: $5. For more information contact Molly Peters at mpeters@hartdistrict.org .

December 4, 5 – Valencia High School Choir presents their Dessert Carol Night Performance at 7 pm in the theater. Tickets: $10. For more information Christine Tavares 661-294-1188.

December 4-6 – West Ranch High School Theatre Dept. presents “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck at 7 pm in the West Ranch Theatre. Tickets: $8 adults, $5 students. For more information contact Christopher Cook at ccook@hartdistrict.org

December 5, 6 – Canyon High School Choral Winter Concert. The Choir will perform traditional and non-traditional choral holiday music ranging from Gregorian chant to pop music at the Golden Valley High School Theatre at 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and students without and ASB card, $5 for students with an ASB card and senior citizens. Children 10 and under are free. December 7 – West Ranch Studio A Jazz Band is performing a concert at Valencia Town Center Mall at 3 pm. Come hear the WR Studio A Jazz Band play jazz, pop, and holiday favorites while getting some shopping done at the same time! The band will be playing outdoors next to Friday’s restaurant, where Santa Claus is also stationed. For more information contact Brian Leff at bleff@hartdistrict.org .

December 9 – West Ranch High School Bands and Orchestras will be having their Winter Concert at 7 pm in the West Ranch HS Theater. Tickets: $5. For more information call Jason Marshall at JMarshall@hartdistrict.org .

December 9 – Valencia High School Jazz performs at Santa Clarita City Hall at 5:45 pm at Santa Clarita City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd., Santa Clarita 91355. For more information call 661-294-1188.

December 11 – La Mesa Junior High Bands present their Winter Concert 2014 at 7 pm in the MPR Beginning bands, the Lobo jazz band, and advanced band will be performing. Tickets: free! For more information contact Mr. Stephan at jstephan@hartdistrict.org.

December 11 – West Ranch High School Choir (combined with the West Ranch Orchestra) presents their Winter Concert in the West Ranch Theatre at 7 pm. Tickets: $7. For more information contact Molly Peters at mpeters@hartdistrict.org .

December 12 – West Ranch High School Jazz presents their Winter Jazz Concert in the theater at 7 pm. Tickets: $5. West Ranch’s Winter Jazz Concert will feature brand new originals and arrangements for the Studio A Jazz Band, WR Lab Band, and Wildcat Combos. Some of the pieces will include student compositions and commissions for big band. Come hear the jazz sounds of today! For more information contact Brian Leff at bleff@hartdistrict.org .

December 12, 13 – Valencia High School Choir Boutique Fundraiser from 9 am to 4 pm. For more information contact Christine Tavares, 661-294-1188.

December 13 – Sierra Vista Junior High School Band presents their Camarillo Christmas Parade performance with Canyon High School in Camarillo. Contact the Band Director at each school for more information.

December 14 – Valencia High School Choir is caroling at the Santa Clarita Library (Valencia location) from 3 – 3:30 pm. Light refreshments served. For more information contact Christine Tavares,661-294-1188.

March 18 – 20 – Rancho Pico Junior High School and West Ranch High School Band Showcase. This concert features all of the bands from West Ranch High School and Rancho Pico Junior High School. The audience will enjoy listening to the continuum of musical development between the two levels. This collaboration between West Ranch and Rancho Pico provides a sense of community and shows how the long-term dedication of students has created a rich musical heritage in our district. At 7 pm in the West Ranch Auditorium. Tickets: $5 adults, $3 children (all proceeds go directly to the music program). March 20, 21 – Canyon High School Concert. The Jazz Ensemble, all of the choirs, and solo acts will perform music of the 30’s to today at Golden Valley High School Theatre. March 20 at 7:30 pm and March 21 at 6 pm. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and students without and ASB card, $5 for students with an ASB card and senior citizens. Children 10 and under are free. April 16 -18 and 23, 24 – Saugus High School Theater Arts presents “The Addams Family” Musical at 7 pm in the multipurpose room. Tickets: $10 adults, $7 students. For more information contact Gina Painter at Gpainter@hartdistrict.org .

May 12 – Rancho Pico Junior High School presents their Spring Concert. This concert features all of the bands and orchestras from Rancho Pico Junior High School. It is a celebration of student accomplishments throughout the year. Students will play a varied program of classical, jazz, and contemporary music. At 7 pm in the Rancho Pico MPR. Tickets: $5 adults, $3 children (all proceeds go directly to the music program). May 16 – West Ranch High School Jazz presents Super Jazz at the Ranch from 8 am to 8 pm. Tickets: $10 Adults, $7 Students or Seniors. West Ranch HS jazz festival featuring local middle and high school jazz bands and combos performing throughout the day in two venues. May 27 – Canyon High School Choral Spring Concert. The choirs will perform choral music covering a broad range of genres and eras, including the touching “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” by John Rutter, which has concluded the Spring Concert since 1992. Golden Valley High School Theatre at 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and students without and ASB card, $5 for students with an ASB card and senior citizens. Children 10 and under are free.
