From math and English to welding, physics, photography and hotel & restaurant management, academic and career technical education courses of all kinds will be served — and in large numbers — during the 2015 College of the Canyons winter session.
With an already record-breaking number of class sections offered during the fall 2014 semester, College of the Canyons is now expecting a wave of nearly 10,000 students to enroll in winter session courses which begin in January.
Those numbers would represent the largest winter session ever offered at the college, and that’s good news for COC students who have approximately 290 class sections to choose from.
The college’s winter session course selection has been designed to help accelerate the achievement of student learning outcomes by providing students with increased access to the classes they need.
A large cross section of the courses being offered will primarily be general education “core” classes that all students need to either graduate, transfer to a four-year school and/or meet course prerequisites associated with their immediate educational plans.
The college’s winter session begins on Jan. 5, and concludes on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015.
Registration is ongoing at both the Valencia and Canyon Country campuses, with students encouraged to sign up for classes as soon as possible to avoid placement on a waitlist.
Students who register for classes during the 2015 winter session will be charged a $46 per unit enrollment fee. However, winter enrollment fees will be waived for high school students, providing them with an opportunity to “test drive” the College of the Canyons experience.
The college’s spring 2015 semester will begin on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.
