[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are trying to identify a person of interest after a police pursuit Wednesday night in Canyon Country.
Patrol deputies noticed a silver 2005 Pontiac being driven erratically on American Beauty Drive in Santa Clarita around 9:10 p.m., officials said.
The deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, and the driver refused to pull over, said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The driver of the Pontiac, which also had one female passenger, led deputies on a pursuit to the 19100 block of Pleasantdale, in Santa Clarita.
They stopped at a house that had previously been a part of Sheriff’s Station deputies’ criminal investigations, officials said.
Seven occupants came out of the house, while the suspects are believed to have escaped.
Deputies set up a containment of the area and called for a helicopter to assist in their search. All seven people who came out were cleared of any wrongdoing at the scene by deputies.
Deputies were granted access to the home, but the occupants of the Pontiac were not found.
Investigators are working with the owner of the Pontiac, which was impounded by deputies, to try and determine who was in the car.
