One of the most important things we do here at the City is to provide a safe, clean, healthy environment for you and your family. This involves many things including law enforcement, land use planning, financial management, care and maintenance of our City streets, trails, parks, sidewalks and open space, as well as providing educational and informational opportunities you and your family need.

Your participation in the City’s work efforts is vital to our success. When you offer your time and talent to help our community, you are going a long way towards investing in our City. Over the next few months, you will have an opportunity to weigh in on programs and projects that will impact our community for years to come. These projects are part of our long range plan called Santa Clarita 2020.

The Santa Clarita 2020 plan includes a variety of projects that will help our City thrive well into the future. By planning now, we will be better positioned to provide the excellent programs, facilities and services you enjoy.

Right now, you have an opportunity to provide input on a future Saugus Library Center. We are working towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will provide convenient access to Saugus residents for library services as well as recreational opportunities. Another project we are very excited about is a new Canyon Country Community Center. The City purchased six and a half acres on the corner of Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon, for the purpose of designing and building a new Community Center to replace the temporary one at Sierra Highway and Flying Tiger.

Some other major work efforts include the creation of a new Arts Master Plan; upgrading Old Orchard Park; designing the Sand Canyon Trail; and designing a first-ever Tennis Center at Central Park.
