A pair of hikers who got lost in Towsley Canyon Sunday evening were rescued by Fire Department and Search and Rescue personnel.

A woman, who is approximately 19 years old, and her boyfriend were hiking in Towsley Canyon when the woman began to feel light headeda and called 9-1-1 at about 9:20 p.m., authorities said.

Search and Rescue was activated as well as the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Once fire engines arrived on scene, the couple was able to flag down responders by using their cell phone lights.

Firefighters hiked approximately one mile to escort the couple back to safety. No injuries were reported.

  6. Lost? Doesn’t sound like it. Article says one of the hikers started to feel light headed, so they called 911. Units responded, and helped them out.
