@Ramon Caranza, the sidewalks in many parts of Santa Clarita are difficult to run on because tree roots and settling ground have caused the concrete slabs to become uneven. It’s easy to trip and fall on them. Since the city puts a higher priority on making sure roads are even for cars’ smooth passage rather than sidewalks are even for the safety of pedestrians, it’s often less hazardous to run on the side of the road rather than on the sidewalk. I run well over 1000 miles a year on Santa Clarita roadways and the majority of my running is done in the bike lane or on the shoulder.
And BTW many of the roads don’t HAVE sidewalks.
