How awful. My friend and I were at the Santa Clarita library earlier today (way better than the libraries up here). We passed Walmart. Sad to think this man may have still been alive when we were there/headed back into town.

Police are focusing on taking down popup libraries and food trucks, when that’s cleaned up they’ll focus on the increase of buying and sale of drugs, the homeless, and kids speeding like crazy on the streets.

^ they do, they need to focus on that, they need to clean up the wash there is too much drug handling there. My old house had the entire back direct to the wash and at night you could hear them there. It got too scary to even be in the backyard at night time, so we moved.

Clearly, us taxpaying, law-abiding morons don’t believe that breaking laws created to preserve a basic standard of living is the way to improve anyone’s quality of life.
It’s so far beyond me how anyone could possibly think that laws were created to oppress anyone.

He had the same opportunities that any of us did, and his family and friends owed him some compassion- first- before any public services did.

What I think is that SC is still small enough to focus on cleaning it up from all the drug dealing that is going on all over the wash which is the home of the homeless. I’ve lived in SC my whole life and never aware on how bad the situation was. We had a home on Langside Ave, the back led to the wash, never had an issue until we started paying attention to the voices that came from the wash it got so scary that we wouldn’t go to the backyard after dark cuz you never knew what someone could do under the influence or to get money for drugs. 3 days after we moved I saw post on a homeless found dead, he was found directly behind my old house :( its scary what goes on there.
This poor,homeless man just suffered a hopeless,lonely,death. Does it really matter for what reason he found Walmart for his final day of life. I’m saddened by his lonely maybe painful death and hope his afterlife is ihappier. The other issues on this page don’t really belong here. They feel cold and unsympathetic. God bless his sole .He just may have been a vet,but for sure someone’s son.

I work there and when I was outside relaxing earlier this evening I sensed something and seconds later the cops arrived around the car along with the ambulance so I walked inside since it made me nervous. How horrible that a life has left earth tonight :'(

I’ve live in SCV since 1974 Its crazy how many homeless we have here now. I work in Hollywood and see them all the time there. Quite a few there have mental issues, here I think it’s a drug issue most of the one’s I see are young. RIP

In the past two years the largest increase in homelessness are victims of domestic violence. It wasn’t Veterans (although their numbers are still too high), not those with mental illness, nor those with addiction issues. So I applaud those women who finally got the courage to say, enough is enough. It’s sad to see anyone die alone, so get involved…be the change.

Yes I can read and don’t take most of the stories I read on the internet as fact. I was replying to the uneducated comments regarding homelessness. Every year there is a mass burial of unknown soles and too many were those who died on the streets, including Skid Row.

I do Uber and lyft a lot and I was parked no more than 40 feet when this all happened, I left a lot to do rides…this man had family so many of them showed up, in between my rides this is sad to think he had family who cared about him and he passed in his car…..

OK I think my last comment got flagged for not using my name, but I was parked about 40 feet away when this all happened…I do both Uber and lyft and Walmart is a place that I park in between rides, well in between the rides I noticed a lot of people show up and cry and hug in response to this man’s death, therfore he had family, he also had a daughter, I could over hear bits of the Convo, the corner had with the family, but it wasnt my place to hear so I left at that point….but he had family who cared…..there were at least 12 people who showed up in tears or in a hurry…

Krystal I am truly sorry for your loss, I have also lived in my car and I know that struggle. I myself was never on drugs as these rude people have suggested. I am sure your Dad is smiling down on you during this time of loss. Many prayers for strength and comfort coming your way in your time of grief.

Not trying to start anything, but my Uncle is homeless out here in Canyon Country, by CHOICE. He has his van, and sleeps in it. I also have a brother, who is also homeless by choice, in the valley. People pick their paths. Whatever that path is, sometimes it truly is what they want. Keep that in mind before you say they are on drugs, unstable, mentally ill, etc. May this man rest in peace.
It was announced this morning that this man attend oyr church. I can not picture his face, but was told he was very active at the church and was a beautiful Christian man whom often made popcorn on Wednesday night for the kid’s snacks and frequently helped in the church kitchen. God bless his family.
