Castaic and Val Verde: Zone 2
Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the Week of 8/24/2015 to 8/30/2015
The following crimes were reported last week in Zone 2- Castaic/Val Verde:
A sexual assault was reported from the 27000 block of Violin Canyon. The victim reported being sexually assaulted by a known associate. All parties involved were detained by responding deputies. Special Victim’s Bureau is handling the investigation.
An attempt residential burglary was reported from the 27000 block of North Live Oak. The resident reported the screen to the back window was pried open. No entry to the residence was made and nothing was reported stolen. The crime occurred on August 28, 2015 during daytime hours.
A vehicle burglary was reported from the 28000 block of Harrison Parkway. The victim reported that an amplifier and subwoofer were stolen from his vehicle. The windows to the vehicle were left partially open and the doors were locked. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.
Please remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity. If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
