[KHTS] – A woman’s body was found in a car parked on a street in the Happy Valley section of Newhall Thursday afternoon.

The woman was pronounced dead on scene, said Sgt. Brian Allen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The victim was not the occupant of the house in front of which the car was parked in the 22400 block of Shadeland Drive. The homeowner talked to sheriff deputies and was allowed to drive away.

Robert Hadnot, a Shadeland Drive resident, said he saw the car parked on the street when he left for work 13 hours earlier at 3:30 a.m.

Neighborhood residents said they did not recognize the car.

The incident was reported at approximately 4:43 p.m.

Homicide detectives and coroner’s officials were en route as of 6 p.m.

Maybe she was sick and got overheated and noone helped her. My Mom fell right in front of her apartment last year in 106 degree weather and laid there on the hot asphalt for 3 hours til someone found her. My Mom passed a month or so later, 1 year ago yesterday because noone helped her. It makes me angry at people then again it makes me look to help more so noone feels that horrible helpless feeling i had. May this woman be at peace and her family have comfort.

Not so happy valley now is it?

  27. AJ says:

I dont believe in coincidence, the odds that so many bodies are found dead in cars all of the sudden, in a rather short period of time, strikes me as odd. I also dont buy the argument that information is more readily available now so we hear about these suspicious deaths in real time. If it quacks like a duck.

  28. People can be such jerks with their comments , this is someones loved one , put yourself in the familys place when they get the bad news , MY FAMILY , WE ARE DEVASTATED , WE HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER , MY NIECE , WHO HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE MAY 19 , we have no news and no leads , only that her car was found damaged and run off the road , from the scene , it has been confirmed she was taken by force , we have no news at all , she would NEVER leave her 2 yr old lil girl , EVER , what this family is going to go thru is devastating and it makes me very sad , my heart is breaking for them , so have a heart , one day , God forbid one of you may face this horrible situation , may God hold her forever in his glory ,

  29. James Ellis James Ellis says:

    Yikes another one?

  30. DONT TRIP says:

RIP and hope the sheriffs can serve and not just call every death a suicide. Actually find the COD and not worry about stupid property value! Actually STEVE its not normal for the SCV, http://homicide.latimes.com/post/santa-clarita-violence/

  31. Sad…yes its the 3rd body is the police investigating any further? ?

  32. Sidney Oliver Lagarile

  33. The article did not say this but Deputies believe it was a possible suicide, we will be following up Friday and will update the story

  34. What is going on in “awesome town” that there is a body every day being found under a bridge or in a car, or on the freeway. So sad.

  35. so so sad.

i never saw a follow up on the young woman who went missing last week? she worked with homeless people & Real Life Church? she was last seen in the valley going to visit her new “homeless friend”. Does anybody know what happened to that story??

  36. Graciela Marin Mariano

  37. Here we go again. Another dead body in Santa Clarita

  38. Louie Calvary says:

  40. My mom died of a heart attack in her car in Nordstrom’s parking garage in Glendale years ago. No one could help her cause her door was locked. Help came too late. These things happy every day and our city is no exception from these sad events. Just be glad that it’s not someone you love.

  41. Sad whatever the circumstances are but if it is found to be another suicide that means there are many more people in our valley that are in desperate situations. The community needs to come together to help & support. Have been here since the 70’s and have never seen this many unusual deaths. Prayers to the family.

  42. 9 months 25 people murders in santa clarita something is happening why police don’t say nothing ?????

  43. Chito King Chito King says:

  48. Joanie says:

Can anyone compose a gramatically correct sentence? Reading these comments is like deciphering some kind of code.

  49. Why are so many people dying lately? It’s probably this hellish weather.
