Cross Country
The first Foothill League Cross Country Meet went about as normal as expected for those who follow Foothill League XC, as the teams braved the exhausting heat.
Saugus won for the girls with relative ease, and West Ranch took the boys division. Both remain the #1 ranked teams in their divisions, respectively.
Girls Volleyball
As Foothill League gets starts to kick in to full gear, there has been a full slate of games this week.
Valencia (2-0 in league) has taken the early leg up in the standings, defeating West Ranch on Tuesday and Saugus last night, three games to one.
After taking down Canyon in their first league match of the season Hart (1-0 in league) travels across town to face West Ranch (0-1 in league).
The Golden Valley Grizzlies open their Foothill League campaign today when they travel down the road to the Canyon Cowboys (0-1 in league).
As for the Heritage League, Trinity Classical takes on Holy Martyrs Armenian this evening at home.
Los Angeles Dodgers
In a quick night game/day game turnaround, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Giants, 3-2 in the fourth and final game of the series after dropping last night’s contest, 5-0. Howie Kendrick went 2 for 4 with a run scored in the one run win.
The Boys in Blue will open a weekend series this weekend at Chavez Ravine when they host the San Diego Padres Friday evening. Preparation for the postseason continues with the first pitch at 7:10pm.
