[KHTS] – As of 11:13 p.m. Sunday, all lanes are to the I-5 are open, according to CHP officials.
Motorists are being escorted through the stretch of freeway shut down by the mudslide by CHP officers according to the California Department of Transportation website.
The northbound I-5 was shut down approximately three miles north of Santa Clarita due to a mudslide near Fort Tejon, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The I-5 was closed to all northbound traffic from Parker Road in Castaic to about Fort Tejon, which stretches approximately 35 miles.
Crews aimed to open two lanes during the night, but were able to open all lanes despite the threat of potential weather complications.
Motorists were being diverted at Parker Road in Castaic for the duration of the closure.
CHP officials advised motorists to take the northbound 14 freeway to the westbound SR-58, or take the westbound SR-126 to the northbound I-10.
