Scary day
Yes this happened today right at lunch time.
“Suspicious Person” in the SCV could easily be an individual not wearing UGG boots or a flat brimmed hat.

Ha!
Good to be vigilant, but it shares a fine line with paranoia and xenophobia.

Over dramatic!
What is a soft lock down
This incident is unrelated to the LAUSD incident which had to do with an email terror threat to schools in Los Angeles and New York.
Better safe than lose one child.
So was La Mesa Jr High. My co-workers daughter goes to school there.
okay but I thought all LAUSD schools were shut down?
What in the heck is a “soft lockdown”? Lock down is lock down in my opinion.
I don’t think it’s over dramatic, they’re doing their job to protect their students & faculty

Wow ? sabias que hoy cerraron muchas escuelas de La county por una amenaza k isieron
It’s finals week, most high schools got out at 12:15
‘Soft Lockdown’ is term that defines a protocol in a school to respond to a threat outside the school without immediate threat to the students inside the school.
During a Soft Lockdown the building perimeter is secured with staff stationed at the doors. Visitors may not enter the building during a ‘soft lockdown.’ Teaching proceeds as usual. Depending on the conditions, class period changes are allowed.
A ‘Hard Lockdown’ is defined as protocol that keeps students locked in their classrooms. Students are instructed to remain seated — out of sight through windows or doors. Lights are usually turned off and teaching lessons stop until the threat passes. ‘Hard Lockdowns’ are usually utilized when an intruder is known to be inside the building, or some other serious threat inside the building or on the school property is identified.
Thank you.

With everything that was going on with the LAUSD, this “soft” lockdown would’ve freaked me out! Aracely Leal glad I kept them home.
Pray with all the kids before they leave the house.
We are living in the last days.
And now that they are clear to go back today.Im more scared to send them. But we can’t live in fear.Just pray.
God protect our children ect.

I told the smaller girls.
It was so so cold. That their principle said stay home and don’t go to school. So they won’t be scared to go this morning.Since we were watching the news yesterday.
I don’t want them to be afraid to go to school.?Melissa Mariscal
Ugh,
Let’s pray for the staff and teacher’s too.
Soft protocol or a hard one.God be in control!!
