Updated Friday, Jan. 1 at 11:00 a.m.

A woman was killed in a crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Plum Canyon Road and Golden Valley Road in the Saugus area.

The 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lt. Robert Hahnlein with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The crash was reported at 1:26 p.m., said Inspector Chris Reade with the LACoFD. People were initially trapped in the vehicles involved.

When deputies arrived on scene, it appeared between four or five cars were involved and some occupants of the cars were fighting, said Deputy Jason Godecke, acting watch sergeant for the SCV Sheriff’s Station said Thursday.

Two patients are listed in moderate condition and two patients are listed in minor condition, Reade said. One moderate patient was flown to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital by helicopter.

Holy cow. That is crazy. I live a few blocks from there.

  11. Josh says:

The speed limits need to be enforced, and the timing on these lights needs to be corrected. The fact that the yellow going from Golden Valley to Santa Catarina is incredibly short and that people travel in excess of posted limits on Plum results in an unusually high number of accidents at this intersection. I live up the street and drive through there daily, its always sketchy.

We should be allowed to shoot darts with a flag that say’s “Ass Hole” at offending vehicles. And when the cops see the vehicle with multiple flags on the vehicle, they can pull it over and give the driver a ticket for driving like an ass hole.
