[KHTS] – The man and woman that were arrested over the weekend after a cat was found with its legs bound in their car appeared in court Tuesday morning.

Tyler Scott Vest, 23, and Kylie Stringer, 26, were arrested on Saturday at approximately 11:30 p.m. after Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies searched their vehicle and found narcotics and the cat.

Vest is being charged with possession of narcotics and is in custody at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $30,000 bail. His court date was continued to Wednesday.

Stringer is being charged with a felony count of animal cruelty. She is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood in lieu of $20,000 bail.

The two appeared in the San Fernando Superior Courthouse on Tuesday morning to face charges against them.

Deputies searched their car after they were found parked behind a closed business near Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road.

As the deputies were searching the vehicle, they found a cat buried upside-down in a cat carrier, along with narcotics.

As they removed the cat, they were shocked to see that the cat’s paws were each individually taped with electrical tape and both of the cat’s front and rear legs were bound together.

The cat could not move and was “meowing loudly in discomfort,” according to a Facebook post made by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The cat was given to Animal Control personnel and was receiving veterinary care.

i suggest you do the same to them for a few days.

  2. Hope the judge throws the book at these idiots and that they are taped up the same way and thrown in a cell. Disgusting pieces if garbage.

  3. Human trash is what they are. Tape all their limbs together and throw them away out in the desert to slowly rot away. Nobody would miss them. Pieces of crap.

  7. James Parker James Parker says:

I think it was a dog fighting group. This is one of the suspects posts

  8. I hope they get their hands and feet bound in jail (and then someone abuses them mercilessly)…. dirtbag scum.

  9. There should be stricter animal cruelty laws. They have no conscience. Hate to think what they do to people.

    • Her facebook page says she formerly worked as a caregiver!

    • ann says:

There are laws in place, otherwise they would not have been charged with animal cruelty. The problem is that judges let these people off. I reference the mother and son who didn’t feed or seek vet care for the head to toes mange that was eating their puppy alive (name is Scarlet). First they said the puppy was not theirs. Judge Samantha Sammons decided they were too poor to care for the dog and allowed them to go unpunished. I saw their mug shots. She looked overfed! She had money for food.

  10. I read that only she has been charged with animal cruelty and she is not the owner of the cat. I really hope they weren’t stealing cats for dog fighting. If they were, I hope this is busted wide open. Lots of missing cats in this town along with missing dogs. Smh. And she takes care of people?

  11. They’re both disgusting and hopefully they will never be able to own an animal. This story makes me sick, I can only imagine if they had children, YOU BOTH SUCK, hope you get treated the same way in jail!

  12. Amanda Flores dude read the name. Look who did this…

  13. Frank Sanchez so sick ?

    People just suck.
