Junior Hallie Mossett has been named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week after scoring a career-high 9.95 on floor in UCLA’s 196.550-196.300 win over No. 3 Alabama.
With UCLA trailing Alabama by .05 going into the final rotation, Mossett stepped up to floor just after an out-of-bounds deduction by a teammate. Needing to hit a good score to keep UCLA in it, Mossett delivered the best routine of her UCLA career, earning a 10.0 from one judge and a final score of 9.95. Her mark shattered her previous career-high of 9.875 and gave Mossett her first career floor victory. UCLA scored 49.475 on floor, tied for the second-highest floor score in the nation so far this season.
This is Mossett’s third career Pac-12 weekly honor of her career. She had previously won Freshman of the Week honors twice in 2014.
Stanford’s Elizabeth Price earned Gymnast of the Week honors, and Utah’s Sabrina Schwab won Freshman/Newcomer of the Week.
