Holly Schroeder, President and CEO of SCVEDC
The Santa Clarita Valley is a growing community, and its population growth in recent years has resulted in the City of Santa Clarita becoming the third largest city in Los Angeles County. Along with population growth, the Santa Clarita Valley has seen significant job growth in recent years – in fact jobs have been growing faster than new housing construction. Last year, the Santa Clarita Valley added 2,284 jobs while only adding 1,134 new housing units. The result is that the SCV is now nearly balanced in its jobs/housing ratio, and growth in the future is designed to add both needed jobs and housing for the growing population of Southern California.
