Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred Sunday, Aug. 21, at approximately 9 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene of a “person laying in the roadway.” The incident occurred on Newhall Avenue, near the Polynesian Mobile Home Park.
Through a preliminary investigation it was determined the victim, a male Hispanic adult, was walking across the street and was struck by a SUV type vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and investigators are currently looking for information on the driver. The vehicle will possibly have damage to the passenger door mirror area.
Additional investigation indicates that the vehicle was missing the front passenger side headlight. The vehicle was possibly silver in color, and a 1990’s or early 2000’s Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition SUV.
If you have any information about the incident, or if you were driving in the area of Newhall Avenue/Sierra Highway around 8:55 p.m. on Sunday night, August 21, please contact Detective Maag at (661) 255-1121 Ext. 5112.

Oh man it so hard to see :'( i really hope they find him/her soon RIP
It looks like the man was crossing the street where he should not have been.
The person who hit him would not have had charges if he had stopped.
Maybe this man could have been saved if they had gotten him to the hospital sooner.
Such a great picture!
How is anyone supposed to identify this car, we can’t see anything. . Really. ?
It looks more like a jeep or a landrover
