TMU Women’s Soccer Trio Earns GSAC Scholar-Athlete Honors
The Master’s University women’s soccer team boasts three student-athletes on the 2016 Women’s Soccer GSAC Scholar-Athlete list.
Whitney Gomillion, Kinley Kane, and Taylor Rowden represent the Lady Mustangs on this year’s list. To qualify, an athlete must be a junior or senior academically and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater.
This weekend, the fourth-seeded Lady Mustangs 8-6-4 (4-4-2 GSAC) against the fifth-seeded Hope International Royals (9-6-2, 4-5-1 GSAC) in the first round of the 2016 GSAC Soccer Tournament. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. on Reese Field.
Logan Named GSAC Scholar-Athlete
Christopher Logan represents The Master’s University men’s soccer team on the 2016 Men’s Soccer GSAC Scholar-Athlete list.
To qualify, an athlete must be a junior or senior academically and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater.
On Saturday, Logan and the fifth-seeded Mustangs will take on the fourth-seeded Hope International Royals in the first round of the 2016 GSAC Soccer Tournament. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. in Fullerton.
Mikesell, Sherfey Earn GSAC Scholar-Athlete Honors
Excelling both on the course and in the classroom, Skyler Mikesell and Josh Sherfey of The Master’s University men’s cross country team have been recognized as Scholar-Athletes for the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC). Notably, this is Sherfey’s second time receiving the academic honor on the conference level.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or Sports Information Director for the conference honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
On Saturday, TMU’s men’s cross country team will compete at the GSAC Championship. The 12th-ranked Mustangs look to secure its seventh-straight conference title. This year’s men’s 8k race will start at 10 a.m.
Frankian & Rush Named GSAC Scholar-Athletes
Excelling both on the course and in the classroom, Abigail Frankian and Rachel Rush of The Master’s University women’s cross country team have been recognized as a Scholar-Athlete for the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC).
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or Sports Information Director for the conference honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
This Saturday, Frankian, Rush, and the sixth-ranked Lady Mustangs will compete at the 2016 GSAC Championship, hosted by William Jessup University, in Rocklin.
