Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station tweeted at 10:48 a.m. that the precautionary lockdown has been lifted and the campus is safe.
According to deputies, no weapon was found on campus and school officials are in the process of assessing the situation.
“There was a report of student on campus possibly armed,” said SCV Sheriff’s Station spokesperson Shirley Miller. “It was just rumor and it wasn’t true.”
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies reported to a lockdown situation at Saugus High School, at 10:20 a.m., according to officials.
The campus was being lockdown as a precautionary measure.
“We’re trying to figure out what else is going on. The superintendent is aware. We’re in touch with the campus administration. So we’re trying to piece it together,” said Hart District spokesperson Dave Caldwell.
