Eric Reifman has been promoted to superintendent of William S. Hart Regional Park and Tesoro Adobe Historic Park, effective Feb. 2.
Reifman, 35, of Newhall, succeeds Norm Phillips, to whom Reifman previously reported. Phillips was promoted last fall to superintendent of the Castaic Lake Recreation Area, which is a larger area of responsibility within the Los Angeles County Parks system.
“Eric is known as an effective leader with experience developing specialized recreation programs, organizing large special events, coordinating park and trails maintenance projects and establishing strong relationships with the many community groups and volunteer organizations who support our park programs,” said Grace Perez of the parks office in an e-mail.
Reifman started his career with L.A. County Parks and Rec as a 20-year-old lifeguard at Castaic Lake and worked his way up to recreation services supervisor, regional park Superintendent I and now Superintendent II.
Reifman holds a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration from California State University, Long Beach.
