SoCalGas will be conducting safety enhancements and integrity assessments at the Santa Clarita Honor Rancho natural gas storage facility, which they warn may result in some natural gas odor and noise.
The company is implementing additional safety enhancements and integrity assessments, including well inspections and modifications, at the Santa Clarita Honor Rancho natural gas storage facility beginning on March 1. This work will include the use of tall equipment such as workover rigs and may result in some natural gas odor and noise.
SoCalGas says they do not anticipate any service interruptions to customers, though residents and local businesses may smell an odor of natural gas and may also hear some work-related noise.
The company estimates the work will be completed this December, weather and other conditions permitting.
Honor Rancho Storage Facility is located near the intersection of West Rye Canyon Road and Brady Parkway in Santa Clarita.
Residents with questions may contact SoCalGas’ call center at 1-800-427-2200. The call center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I know very few folks are going to actually read this press release, but I have to throw two cents in just because.
I wonder if they are installing/re-installing safety valves on the injection well heads like the ones they removed a long time ago at Aliso Canyon?
