April 30, 2017 – Lancaster, CA – Jethawks Jesus Tinoo delivers a second inning pitch against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Sunday, April 30, 2017. Tinoco made his debut for the Jethawks going 4.1 innings giving up three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. The Jethawks won the game 11-10 on a two-run walk-off home run by Hamlet Marte.

Hamlet Marte hit a walk-off two-run home run to cap a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the JetHawks to an 11-10 victory in the rubber game over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Sunday afternoon at The Hangar.

Rancho Cucamonga trailed 8-3 entering the ninth and scored seven runs to take a 10-8 lead. Zach McKinstry struck out to open the frame and then delivered the tie-breaking two-run single with two out later in the inning. Logan Landon started the Quakes rally with a solo home run.

In the bottom of the ninth, Wes Rogers led off and drove one to deep-right center. Center fielder DJ Peters went back to the wall, leapt up, and the ball went off his glove. Roberto Ramos followed with an RBI single to bring the JetHawks within a run. Two batters later with one out, Marte ended the game with his two-run blast. He finished the day 3-for-5 and came a triple shy of the cycle.

Lancaster was shut down by Quakes starter Dennis Santana, who struck out eight in 5.2 shutout innings, but pounced immediately on the Quakes bullpen.

Down 3-0 entering the seventh, Roberto Ramos doubled to open the frame. Two batters later, Hamlet Marte picked up a double of his own when Yusniel Diaz had trouble seeing the ball in right field. With the bases loaded and one out, Garrett Hampson put the JetHawks on the board with a two-run single. After Forrest Wall walked to load the bases, Sam Hilliard drew a free pass to tie the game. Brian Mundell put the JetHawks in front 4-3 with a sacrifice fly.

The JetHawks scored four more runs in the eighth inning. Scott Burcham and Forrest Wall each delivered RBI singles. Sam Hilliard came through with a two-run single.

Salvador Justo (2-2) picked up the win for the JetHawks despite allowing a pair of runs in the ninth. Tony Gonsolin (1-2) suffered the loss for Rancho Cucamonga.

Lancaster’s Jesus Tinoco made the start in his JetHawks debut. The right-hander went 4.1 innings and allowed three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Carlos Polanco followed him and tossed 2.2 shutout innings out of the JetHawks bullpen. Marc Magliaro also threw a scoreless inning in relief for Lancaster.

The JetHawks open a seven-game road trip on Monday afternoon with the first of three against the Inland Empire 66ers. Right-hander Craig Schlitter (2-0) will start for Lancaster against right-hander Jesus Castillo (0-0). First pitch is 3:00 p.m.
