A Los Angeles County judge dismissed the charges last week against one of three people accused of human trafficking in Santa Clarita.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge dismissed the charges against Ashley Peart, 27, of Santa Clarita, who was arrested in May 2016 after a human trafficking “sweep” across the Southland.
The judge found insufficient evidence against Peart, and the charges against her were dismissed, according to court officials.
Michael Shaw, 37, of Santa Clarita, and Eric Hamwey, 32, of Encino, are still facing charges of human trafficking, said Ricardo Santiago, public information officer.
Shaw is also facing two counts of human trafficking to commit another crime and pimping. He also faces three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and a charge of pandering by procuring, according to court records.
