The Lancaster JetHawks fell to the San Jose Giants, 7-4, on Tuesday afternoon at San Jose’s Municipal Stadium.
The Giants (25-34) took an early 2-0 lead against JetHawks (31-28) starter Jesus Tinoco (3-1), but Hamlet Marte promptly tied the game with a two-run homer in the second inning. The JetHawks added another run on a Garrett Hampson RBI-single later in the frame.
Lancaster didn’t hold the lead for long. Bryan Reynolds tripled with one out in the third to begin a two-run go-ahead rally for the Giants.
The JetHawks loaded the bases in the fourth inning with no outs but only managed one run on a Scott Burcham double play ground ball to tie the game, 4-4.

San Jose answered again in the bottom of the fourth. Jalen Miller tripled to lead off the inning and scored on a ground ball to shortstop. The run would prove to be the winning run.
Tinoco allowed two more runs to score in the sixth inning. He allowed seven runs in total on a career-high 13 hits over 5.1 innings.
Mark Reyes (2-8) tossed two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.
San Jose’s bullpen retired the final 11 JetHawks batters of the game.

Lancaster’s last series win at San Jose came in August 2012. They are 5-17 at Municipal Stadium since 2013.
The JetHawks return home to begin a four-game series with the Inland Empire 66ers on Thursday night at The Hangar. Craig Schlitter (7-1) is scheduled to start for Lancaster. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.
