1934 - Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, replacement for ill-fated St. Francis Dam & reservoir, begins to fill with water [story]
Bouquet Reservoir

Commentary by Betty Arenson
| Friday, Jun 16, 2017

Madonna, Jan. 21, 2017, at an open rally with a microphone: “Yes, I have thought a lot about blowing up the White House.”

Bernie Sanders, March 2017: If the AHCA passes as the new healthcare bill, “millions … will not be able to get to a doctor … thousands of Americans will die.”

Vox headline, March 14, 2017: “The GOP plan for Obamacare could kill more people each year than gun homicides.”

Nancy Pelosi, May 3, 2017: “(The American Heath Care Act is) a joke. It’s a very sad, deadly joke.”

Media Matters (George Soros), May 4, 2017: “The House Passed a Health Care Bill That will Kill People.”

David Cicilline, D-R.I., May 4, 2017, on the House floor: “Tens of thousands of people will die if this bill passes. … That’s a fact.”

Jason Haber, Manhattan, New York Democrat and real estate investor, May 2017: “We must be far more visceral.” He started a super PAC that he claims will include “tombstones, coffins even eulogies … for the constituents that will be killed as a result of losing access to health care.” Further, “in the age of Trump, nothing short of blunt and brute force will work as a counterweight. … We can’t win based on ideas.”

Elizabeth Warren, May 2017, after ACHA passed the House: “Families will go bankrupt. People will die.”

Tom Perez, Democratic National Committee Chairman, March 31, 2017. His comment at a rally about Republicans overall: “They don’t give a s—t about people.” Perez tweeted, May 4, 2017: “We’re talking about people who could die if this bill passes.”

Wanna-be starlet Kathy Griffin poses for a picture to be blown all over the media and digital world, holding up a bloody, severed head (as in ISIS decapitation) of President Donald Trump.

Terry McAuliffe, former Democratic National Committee chairman and now governor of Virginia said to CNN: “People will die if this becomes the law of the land.”

CNN Politics headline, June 15, 2017: “GOP House Whip Steve Scalise remains in critical condition after shooting at baseball practice.” He and four others were shot by progressive James Hodgkinson who has a criminal history. He also had possession of his guns “legally.”

The event happened on Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s turf. Within minutes, McAuliffe took to the microphone to blame guns.

This is more than a two-way street but your commentary is purposefully one sided. By the way, I am not a liberal so don’t bother with calling me a snowflake or libtard. Keeping the hate alive – well done Ms. Arenson.

    • Betty Arenson says:

Abigail, the theme of your response was predictable. No need for childish name-calling which accomplishes exactly zero. However I would ask that you give me five verifiable,like-kind death and kill statements, with names and dates as I did, coming from name-brand Republican elected government representatives. And no, don’t waste time with the farce of (unelected)Sarah Palin’s falsely assigned responsibility for Gabby Gifford’s shooting. The New York Times just tried that and they are seriously back pedaling, realizing their liability. I hope Palin responds appropriately.

  2. Denny NNWofLA says:

This morning when I read this, I felt I had missed her point. It seemed like a bunch of leftover random unrelated lines she may select from for her one of diatribes. Upon further review, I had not.

  3. S Cgal says:

    Betty, Betty, Betty,
One need look no further than Trump during this past presidential election to find some of the most vile, egregious and ignorant name calling, which continues even today. You blatantly and conveniently left off the names of countless GOP senators, reps. and yes, celebs (Ted Nugent, KidRock, Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato) come to mind, who verbally attacked former President Obama and of course, Hillary Clinton for years! So, now you decide to cry foul! What a joke, To you and all who just “now” have discovered that words matter, I have just a few to offer: POT MEET KETTLE.
