1934 - Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, replacement for ill-fated St. Francis Dam & reservoir, begins to fill with water [story]
Bouquet Reservoir

As a heat wave gripped the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies on Tuesday helped rescue another dog locked in a car in a local parking lot.

It was the second hot dog rescued by deputies this week.

About a dozen onlookers gathered around a silver, two-door Mercedes coupe in the Costco parking lot in Canyon Country around 11:30 a.m., as the temperature approached 100 degrees.

Deputies rescued the dog and when KHTS News arrived, they were handcuffing the vehicle’s owner, who became irate after learning his window was smashed.

Read the full story and watch the video from KHTS [here].

What is the matter with people?! Try sitting in your car for 2 minutes in this heat. I think the city should charge a fine of $1,000. There is no excuse for such stupidity. If the dog just got groomed, the vet take them home and then go to the store.
