Santa Clarita artist Idelle Okman Tyzbir and two partners in art have works on display at the Topanga Canyon Gallery through August 8, with an opening reception at the gallery on Saturday, July 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The “Juxtaposed Perceptions” exhibit features abstract multidimensional works and watercolors by Idelle; oil paintings by Eugenia Shapiro; and photography by Connie Cambardella.
“Our different interests and mediums make us an unusual and interesting collaboration, creating an exciting synergy,” Idelle said. “These works reveal how each of us sees and interprets the world around us.”
Tyzbir (aka “The Metal Wrestler”) creates musically inspired abstract sculptures and watercolors that speak of her everyday life, she said, adding that she has a “split personality.”
Shapiro said she “is intrigued by the uniqueness and harmony she sees in people’s faces.”
“Through her passion, her images propel you into feeling every beat, movement, and beautiful daily rhythms of life’s journey,” Idelle said, describing Cambardella’s photography.
A closing “Juxtaposed Perceptions” reception is slated for Sunday, August 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
