Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced it was selected by a leading prime contractor to provide Curtiss-Wright’s innovative rugged airborne processing system technology for use on a defense platform.
Curtiss-Wright will manufacture the products covered by this agreement at its facility in Santa Clarita.
The mission computer features Curtiss-Wright’s industry-leading open architecture COTS modules, including the CHAMP-XD2M digital signal processor module.
In addition, the system will feature industry-leading NVIDIA GPU-based processing and video capture modules.
The initial contract is valued at $3 million. The potential lifetime value of the contract is estimated at $6 million.
Under the contract, development, which commenced in March 2017, will continue until December 2018, with the production phase beginning shortly after.

“Our proven track record as a leading supplier to this prime contractor and our ability to respond quickly and deliver units with a short turnaround window were key to our selection for this program,” Bamford said.
