Was probably cutting between cars!
Could be, either way cutting or splitting, should be outlawed in this state!
A previous article stated that the vehicle in front of him slowed down (due to the traffic slowing down), and the guy on the motorcycle did not notice until it was too late and ran into the back of the car
Laurie Rorick I couldnt agree more!
Sherri Bogard Thats what leads me to believe he was being stupid and cutting lanes!
Jerry Ford I have never driven a bike but correct me if Im wrong, isn’t splitting illegal in most states??
Yes, but not here………..Stupid Jerry Brown!
Way to blame the guy that got killed. Lame splitting is legal and all you people driving need to get off your phones and pay attention!
May the victim RIP. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. It was sad when I passed by the scene.
So in response to lane splitting, there are very good reasons why it IS legal here but to have to explain to the uneducated is not worth the time but what is worth my time is to ask you fine folks to show some compassion, somebody lost their life, know body cares to hear what you think should be the law!!
People are never compassionate, only selfish and quick to accuse the deceased of doing something he might not have even been doing! Rip to this poor man, I hope he’s in a much better place.

Splitting lanes was just made officially leagle in California last year. It was never Illeagal before. There was just no law for or against it.
DMV did a full 10 year study on it and determined that when done properly it is actually safer then being forced to stay in lanes between cars in Front and behind you.
In this case. It was 5:30 AM.
Dark and very cold on a bike.
He was 60 years old. Most likely had “whiteline fever”
And was asleep so to speak on the bike.
60 is a little old for that. How old are you, sir?
I’m close but not quite there yet. (58)
The cold would make my joints stiff and would definitely made my reaction slower.
If you were not there to understand what really happened, I would recommend to keep your opinion to yourself. I passed by the accident and it hurts to see people making judgmental remarks to something so serious. It shows how desensitized people are becoming.
Look Lissa & George Gomez
Lori Brown this is the accident we got stuck in yesterday. I saw the motorcycle as I passed through. There wasn’t much left of it. Sad.
