Debbie Blaisdell the reason for your horrible drive in this morning
I mean traffic is like this normally
2.5 hrs to Burbank? I don’t think so. Lol
I take the 14 and its about a hour to just get across town
I don’t understand with all the construction on the 5 going on, why we can’t throw in a freeway widening project, as well. Obviously, the area is in need for it.
It’s coming after this project is finished. Caltrans can’t do two things at once. I-5 under construction through 2022.
It’s gonna get even crazier when they build all those homes of the 5 and 126!
The Newhall Land project was recently given the green light to build 22,000 new housing units east of Magic Mountain. SCV simply does not have the infrastructure to accommodate this massive influx of new residents!
There’s simply too many people in SCV…and really only one way in and out. What a nightmare this morning !
Exactly
We moved here in ’74… is was 18K people. We moved out in ’86 it was 144K and sucked even then. What are we up to now?
Yet they want to build more . This and like many other reasons is why we shouldn’t expand . Our roads are horrible and our town was never meant to be this size .
The crash happened at about 1045pm last night per CHP. That needs to be cleared before rush hour the next morning.
But how will they make overtime money?
You would think.
But let’s build more houses, bring in another 25,000 cars
That project off the 126 got approved, get ready for 58k more people
Lets not forget about the homes behind golden valley target and up plum canyon also cutting through plum.wait there’s more by intersection of Soledad and sand canyon and all those house in the wash
Did I hear correctly because of all the new homes being built there would be a new road coming from the valley in to SCV? A canyon type road? I might be wrong. Maybe a rumor?
There are plans for skyline drive to connect Sierra to plumb canyon. There are plans to connect golden valley to railroad once a development starts on the superfund site.
Lastly… I’ve heard that the Newhall Ranch project may be the driver to expand and modernize SR-23 that connects Fillmore to Moorpark.
Days like this I am so thankful for motorcycles.
But…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. ..BE careful! !
Patricia Bonier always.
Made the mistake of jumping into my truck this morning!
Boo hoo, it happens
Aaron Moszkowicz
Missed flight. Oh well. Perfect storm-construction, flipped truck and closed on ramp at Calgrove. Tried to take Old Road down to Calgrove from Magic Mountain. The 14 would have been the better call.
It was terrible. I’m sorry you missed your flight.
The 14 was a joke as well
14 was ok till Golden Valley
Cindy Colette this is why I didn’t make it today ?
Lucy Villalvazo
That’s why. Golden valley estaba ??
John Egan be glad you aren’t home
And they want to build more home!!!
Malcon Pierce
Lived it
Love Santa Clarita but the traffic is hectic everyday . And that we are getting more accidents being cause by dumb drivers it seems. I’m glad we are moving to a more rural area in acton/agua dulce.
Where you only have one Freeway. Good luck with that!
It’s a better option!
Greg Brown lol 14 hell of alot less traffic and better than the 5 any day
Another reason I’m thankful I no longer live there. Traffic traffic traffic. Always traffic.
Just could not get out of Santa Clarita this morning. Missed AM work.
Just could not get out of Santa Clarita this morning. Missed AM work.
Amanda Mayhew ?
GOD
Got MiLK??! Overturn Happened at 10:22pm the night before! Didn’t see it on the late night news. What is taking CHP and caltrans so long to clear?? Sigalert til1:30pm?= 15 HRs!! Are we using horses to right the truck??! Ridiculous!!
There it is Jessica Marshall
Ryan Davis
Matthew King
I’m going to guess that this is why there was so much traffic on Golden Valley when I was taking my son to school.
No, heard there was a 4 car collision there this morn by a guy I ran into at a surgery center this morn.
It took me 2 hours to drive to Northridge. I finally arrived to my 9:30 class at 10:30 and sat down for 15 minutes ?
Right there with you, an accident last thursday had me arriving to csun an hour late. I didn’t even make it to my 9:30 class today.
Susan Torres
Article says nothing about the driver :( or did I miss it?
Dustin Cooper
Kim Hines Cushing
Briana Benner
Well I’m glad there’s Facebook proof behind my meltdown earlier!?
Lisa Gervasi McGeorge everyday ?
Wow heard it was a milk truck.
Lisa Gervasi McGeorge its the construction.
Becky Rush Adler see…
Oh that sucks!!
It suuuuuure did
Justin Ackerman
I’m so glad I missed it for once lol
Is it clear now? Does anyone know?
I love living here but the traffic is a nightmare. Luckily I will only have to put up with driving to the valley until March 30 when I retire.
Lucky!
Congrats lol
For some reason Soledad Canyon was closed down completely at Valley Center. Forced everyone onto Newhall Ranch Road!! It took me an hour and 10 minutes to get from Canyon Country to Newhall this morning!! Argg!
Anyone know why Soledad was shut down??
There was a pretty bad car crash on westbound side of Soledad. I drove by at 8am and saw a mangled car sitting on top of an electric box and another smashed up one backwards at the curb.
Matt Bilyeu thanks for letting me know.
April Borja
I guess this is why! Anne-Marije Short-Corporaal
Has this cleared up yet? I’m thinking not by the bumper to bumper traffic around 10:30am on Newhall Avenue – gridlock of cars all the way from Railroad Avenue to the 14S.
Brianne Smith
Omg!! Finally an answer
I feel like a cow being funneled through the only gate out of scv! So ridiculous. MOOOOOO! Instead of my commute it should be called “my funnel”
It’s a comoooooote!
????
Nicole KovachRon Kovach
Yup. Another over 2hr commute this morning.
Cant wait until there are 21,000 more homes out in SCV……traffic is gonna be top-notch!
Ugggg..dont friggin remind us!
Ana G LR that’s why there was traffic
Ana G LR that’s why there was traffic
And 150,000 more homes are coming, give or take! And of course I hope that the driver is OK!
The thundering herd came up and over from Plum Canyon trying to get to the 14. Made a 3 mile trip from Whites Cyn. Rd. to Golden Valley Rd a 20 min. creepy crawling nightmare with 8 miles to go to Mission Hills. Welcome to the “Little San Fernando Valley.”
It is better . just take the old Rd to Pico and then 5 S
I took that way and it was SO much worse!
It took 10 min tops at 11:30 am
No use crying over spilled milk !
❤️
Sorry I couldn’t resist !
And this is why I want to move! Karina Christopherson
where to?! (:
Anywhere but commyfornia
Commuting our here has become a nightmare.
Pattie Horton
Why is it always a big rig?
Telecommuting needs to be more the normal routine now. This is crazy!
Robert Reyes
Jayne Heberle Bowman
Everyday is a nightmare trying to get out of scv
Yep sure was!! I turned around and went home. Can’t wait to move in a couple months !
Hey, I’ve got a great idea, let’s build some more houses, traffic aint so bad!
Why don’t we have a loop??
Connection to 118 and or 210?
http://user.govoutreach.com/santaclarita/support.php?classificationId=10530
Make a complaint!! No way to get out of SCV and more developments to come. This is the 3rd time this month that it’s taken me 1 hour 30 minutes to drive 10 miles to Granada Hills
Lesley Esguerra
Judy Edwards
I saw the sigalert 530 am. It looked bad!
Teena Narvaez
Jennifer this was the issue this AM
Yep, that was it…
Peter you picked a great day to be off
Hidden Valley residents are really screwed. The city decided to seal us up with no access to Lyons avenue. The gate worked well. We’d like it back.
I had to be in Moorpark by 10am. Waze took me down the 126 and I was only 30 min late yay! It was a great alternative…if you needed to get to chatsworth, simi, Woodland Hills or the west valley.
Waze was still trying to send people to 5 frwy parking lot…no bueno. Ignored & took 14.
