Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Crime Prevention Unit and Crime Impact Team joined up to conduct probation searches on Tuesday.
Here’s a report from the station:
We’ve seen an upswing in residential burglaries and grand theft autos reported in the Canyon Country area, and our teams wanted to do pay our local SCV probationers a visit, especially those who are on probation for property crimes.
Deputies went to several locations and made sure probationers still lived at the addresses on file. Their residences were searched to make sure they were in compliance.
Everything checked out except for three of the locations. It turned out that the addresses were no good – and the probationer no longer lived there – an automatic violation. By law, they have to inform their probation officer if they move.
We will relay the information about these three probationers to their respective probation officers, and warrants will be issued for their arrests.
