The promising signs the Mustangs showed in their Missouri opener paid off in the evening Friday when Master’s women’s volleyball picked up its first road win of the season.
The Mustangs lost in three to NAIA No. 5 Park University at the Columbia College Fall Classic in Columbia, Missouri, despite what coach Allan Vince felt was a resilient performance.
Then, against Dillard University from Louisiana, the Mustangs won 3-0 to finish the first day of the tournament 1-1.
“We showed great resilience. We played up to Park’s level, and were able to do some really good things at the net,” Vince said. “I’m pleased at how prepared we were to compete at the beginning of this trip.”
Against Park, Jane Cisar led the Mustangs with eight kills. Morgan Koch followed with seven kills, and Emily Curtin added six. Kayla Sims had 27 assists. McKenna Hafner had 21 digs.
