CHESTERFIELD, MO — NewGround, a St. Louis-based experiential design-build firm, recently teamed up with Logix Federal Credit Union to work on a large scale facility project, a new corporate headquarters building for the full-service credit union in the Burbank, California area.

The new three-story, 180,000 square foot headquarters located in Valencia, California will house more than 900 employees when complete and will provide for a major economic employer expansion in the Valencia area.

The economic impact to the community will be measurable as the Credit Union continues on its rapid growth projections. For this intricate project, Logix looked to NewGround as an expert thought leader to design their headquarters building to accommodate their needs for the next 10 to 15 years and beyond. The building design was strategically thought out to meet the Credit Union’s desire for a strong, timeless appearance.

The Logix building was designed using master planning and careful attention to detail to ensure a harmonic relationship for the various user groups within the overall area. This included the strategic programming of departments into super groups called “neighborhoods.”

For the interior of the building, a wide variety of functional and innovative spaces—from the large corporate conference center to the in-house food service and individual work stations—benefited from NewGround’s unique approach to strategy and process-driven design. Additionally, integral design elements included cutting-edge technology for the new IT server room, and advanced room scheduling software that maximized meeting space usage to digital communications to inform and educate the employees.

The exterior materials will include thin-set limestone tile panels arranged in strong horizontal bands. The exterior fenestration consists of aluminum curtain wall framing with high-performance tinted glass and integral sunshades. The stairs and front entrance window areas are accented with a series of horizontal louvers. Exterior natural stone veneer is featured at the four-story stairwell masses and will be a light, blended shade. There will also be a free-standing parking structure that incorporates an exterior cladding to compliment the design of the facility.

The Logix headquarters will be located at Commerce Center Drive and Franklin Parkway, near the junction of Interstate 5 and State Highway 126. Construction is to be completed by late 2018.

“As their member and employee population continued to grow, Logix Federal Credit Union knew that it was time to accommodate that growth by building a new headquarters, and they looked to NewGround to take lead on this extensive project. From the very beginning, it was our goal to build an HQ that was not only reflective of the Credit Union’s brand, but also supported the basic well-being of their employees through a true employee experience. With the rapid adoption of emerging technology, their new HQ will support current and future developments in digital and AV communications,” said Kevin Blair, President and CEO of NewGround.

So 900 people driving into SVC? Most of those employees can afford to buy homes out here, I know someone who currently works for logix, they looked into buying a home out here and they can’t afford it, they are looking to buy in other Cities and they say many of the employees are in the same situation, only the few top executives can afford a home in SCV
