Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a man on drug charges in Canyon Country Friday night, with the help of a couple new four-legged colleagues.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
Added to the patrol force Friday night — Deputy Jack, an 8-year-old English Springer Spaniel who specializes in sniffing out illicit drugs, and Deputy Riley, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois who assists in detecting firearms.
Their handler was ready and willing to assist with his K9 partners at SCV patrol deputies’ request.
And we put them to work with great results! Deputies conducted a traffic stop this evening on Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country and requested the Narcotics K9’s assistance.
The K-9’s helped search the interior and bed of the pick-up truck and found methamphetamine, heroin, pills and a large amount of U.S. currency.
The adult male was arrested on felony charges of narcotics sales and was transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Good job! What’s the culprits name?
Do the dogs wear bullet-proof vests too?
If they don’t I would like to contribute to a fund to obtain them.
