As Los Angeles County and local fire department personnel continue to battle the Creek and Rye Fires, officials are reminding residents to be prepared.
Approximately 60 deputy personnel and support staff from four Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bureaus are working to evacuate residents, protect life and property, assist with road closures, and keep the area accessible to firefighters. Deputies are also embedded in communities protecting evacuated areas.
They ask residents in affected areas who were not asked to evacuate, to remain vigilant and prepare for evacuations in the event they become necessary. Please prepare a go-bag containing:
• Identification
• Medication
• Food and water
• Important documents, such as birth certificates, marriage
certificates, passports, etc.)
• Any emergency supplies
• A change of clothes
• Toiletries
• Cell phone charger
