A father and mother in Lancaster entered no contest pleas today for attempting to give their children away, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Deputy District Attorney Dianne Hong said Vincent Paul, 38, and Sarah Elise Nilson, 32, entered the plea to one felony count of attempted child abandonment.
Sentencing for the felony plea is scheduled for June 27, 2019, in Department A16 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Antelope Valley Branch.
Calogero and Nilson have been ordered to finish one-year programs for drug abuse and parenting. If they complete the programs, obey all laws and follow all family court orders before sentencing, the charge may be reduced to a misdemeanor count.
On Dec. 14, Calogero and Nilson offered their two boys, ages 1 and 2, to several strangers, the prosecutor said. The defendants also kept the children in unsafe conditions.
Case MA072809 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lancaster Station.

They are entering a program on parenting??? You mean they are getting the kids back??? They need to go to foster homes or get adopted.
So the sentencing is mid-2019, apparently to give them incentive to clean up their lives. I guess now they are walking around free, probably neglecting and abusing their kids.
Funny, I don’t see any Trump supporters/white supremacists commenting here.
you have issues.
SCVTeam, what in the heck does Trump Supporters have to do (or not do)with this article? and throwing “white Supremacists” in this??? Toss the race card in the gutter where it belongs. This is a despicable act of child abuse and a very clear sign that these individuals need help regardless of what party you support. I am pretty sure that Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives and everyone in between have issues with this. Hopefully the children will be placed with responsible relatives (family) that truly care about and love these innocent children.
So Cal Guy, I’m with you. SCVteam is just a troll. Nobody wants to see Children abused. Hopefully the children are safe and with loving family members or foster parents and away from these two.
I see the charges have changed from selling children to trying to give them away. I wonder what really happened. The Judge will sentence very differently for trying to sell a child to trying to give one away.
Seems like they were trying to do the right thing, just went about it wrong. And why would the courts ever give those children back?
