1934 - Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, replacement for ill-fated St. Francis Dam & reservoir, begins to fill with water [story]
Bouquet Reservoir

U.S. House Representative Steve Knight (R-Palmdale) and U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) released statements Friday after the White House’s decision to declassify a memorandum alleging possible abuse of FISA authority within the FBI.

Knight Statement
“The information contained within the now de-classified memo released today is very concerning. As a career law enforcement officer, there is nothing I cherish more than the rule of law. Criminal and civil investigations must be conducted in the sole pursuit of justice and without political consideration.

“At the same time, today’s revelations do not in any way make me question the validity of Robert Mueller’s investigation or his leadership. I fully support the investigation into Russian interference in our election and will continue to do so until it is properly concluded upon discovery of the full truth.

“Agents of the FBI and Department of Justice are consummate professionals, and I have no doubt they will continue to serve our nation with honor and distinction.”

Harris, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement:

“This is not about transparency. This is an effort to weaponize classified information for political gain and expediency. In doing so, this White House is continuing its attacks on the American intelligence community.

“The men and women of the intelligence and law enforcement communities are charged with the heavy responsibility of employing sources and methods to gather and protect our nation’s intelligence. This threatens their ability to do that critical work.

“I will continue to support these brave men and women and demand law enforcement – including the Special Counsel – be given independence to do their job and find the truth, free of political interference.”

  2. Brian says:

What I find highly entertaining about this is that the dossier’s contents were initially compiled by the REPUBLICANS as part of opposition research during the 2016 U.S. Republican Presidential Primary race. Once Trump emerged as the probable nominee, the Republicans dropped the effort and it was picked up, in a round-about way, by the Democrats. So, this is really all about research into Trump’s dealings with Russia that the Republicans started! And now they cry foul?

Ignorance is King. Don’t try to confuse me with stories, data, or reports by politicians that are always by, for and about other politicians. Politicians lie every time they exhale. News agencies (aka the Fourth Estate) pick and choose sides while Government agencies say just what they want the politicians and owners to believe.

And as an aside, they occasionally say things for the rest of us to believe, just in case we’re paying attention.

Nobody tells the truth because they either don’t KNOW the truth, or because the truth isn’t relevant to their jobs, and tasks at hand.

And then there is this – Truth? What truth? When, in the congress and commerce of human life since the 1700s has there ever been any proof of “a” truth?

Truth is something you either know when you see it, or dodge when you ignore it.

Boy, has Knight shown himself to be a total tool. SAD.

  5. Dave Rickmers says:

Rep. Knight is forced to play to the Reality Based Community as a Blue Wave threatens to wash all the Puritans back to Europe. (They were chased out of England so they came here and annoyed us.) Blind faith can’t stop a hard rain.
