1962 - SCV residents vote to connect to State Water Project, creating Castaic Lake Water Agency (now part of SCV Water) [story]
Castaic Lake

An SUV driven by a 20-year-old Castaic man was traveling southbound on Bouquet Canyon Road north of David Way in Saugus when the vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and reportedly collided head-on with a sedan being driven by an Agua Dulce woman, 28, on Monday at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The man, his three passengers (two males and one female, 22-24 years of age) and the sedan driver were all taken to a local hospital with moderate to severe injuries.

Blood tests were administered to both drivers to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor. Investigators are awaiting the toxicology results of the tests.

On Tuesday, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic office received information regarding a Head-on crash on Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, 02-12-18Snapchat video that was reportedly streamed by one of the three passengers in the SUV. The video allegedly depicts the driver steering the SUV with his feet.

Traffic detectives are conducting an active investigation into this incident to ascertain when the video was taken, in relation to the time of the collision.

If anyone has additional information regarding this incident, they are asked to please contact Traffic Investigator Mark Cramer at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, 661-255-1121 ext. 5111.

  2. Patty Ann Patty Ann says:

How about asking everyone in the idiot‘s car.

  3. Mary Miller Mary Miller says:

Steering the car with his feet? I swear this valley has a spirit of stupid on it.

  4. Jeanne says:

Bouquet Canyon above David Way is a dangerous, dark road with lots of blind curves and animals that run across the road. I live off of David Way on Woodside and hear the sirens all the time. Also a REALLY STUPID place for bike riders to go.

  5. travis levy says:

Wake up Sheriffs department !!!!!!!!!! Whatever your doing is not working. There are too many young A**holes with drivers licenses in our valley. Driving is a privilege not a right. Just two weeks ago it was reported a 16 year old and a 17 year old were cited for speeds around 89-93 mph in town. CITED??????? Why weren’t they arrested for wreckless driving. Anything over 20 mph from the posted speed is considered wreckless you can be arrested. If not arrested then suspend their license. How many more people need to die before you take the kid gloves off.

  6. Instead of jail time how about feet amputation instead

  7. Andria Pratt Andria Pratt says:

if in fact he was steering with his feet- throw the book at the idiot

  8. Skip Newhall says:

He’d probably try to catch it with his feet!

  9. Jail time, make sure this asshat never has a license ever again!!!!

  10. Jeanne says:

And he was in mom and dads car too it looks like. I bet they are all kinds of happy. He is lucky nobody died. This could have ended worse than it did. No license for him for quite a while. He lacks the maturity to have the privilege of driving.

  11. So Cal Guy says:

Thanks to our wonderful Governor, after he recovers from any injuries, he’d get a slap on the wrist while at the booking desk, released within an hour, and texting to his friends (probably with his toes) about the entire experience. But yes he absolutely should be held responsible for what happened and have his license suspended for a good amount of time. This isn’t over….Larry H. Parker is standing by his phone as we speak.

  12. jeanne says:

That is why you never let your kid drive your car or put them on your insurance. I didn’t let my kids get their license until 18. They had to buy their own car (I helped with most of that) and they had to buy their own insurance. Otherwise you are on the hook for any damage they cause and can lose your house! Besides they are more mature at 18 and less chance they will hurt themselves or someone else.
