Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station wrapped up a pair of related cases Saturday night with the arrest of an alleged motorhome thief in Saugus.
Here’s the story from the station’s Facebook page:
“Saturday evening we received a report of a possible drunk driver in Saugus. The ‘suspected drunk driver’ was driving a motorhome.
“Deputies caught up to the vehicle and made contact with the driver, a 37-year-old man from Palmdale.
“Minutes after deputies were detaining him, they received a call from the dispatchers at the station. There was a man in the lobby making a report for his stolen motorhome.
“It ended up being a match. What are the chances of recovering a stolen vehicle so quick that it didn’t even have a chance to be put in the system as stolen first?
“By the way, the suspect was determined to not be driving under the influence. We’re not sure whether it was his first time driving a motorhome.
“He was arrested on vehicle theft charges and transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station.”
