Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Whittier man suspected of drunk driving and for multiple alcohol and drug offenses on Saturday, according to station officials.
“On Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., an SCV resident called 911 to report a suspected drunk driver on Newhall Avenue. The driver was swerving and driving into the wrong side of traffic.
“Deputies caught up with the vehicle on Walnut Street. The driver allegedly had an open bottle of tequila, an open bottle of wine, and narcotics.
“Deputies found that the suspect was driving on a suspended license, on probation for DUI and had a warrant for DUI.
“The 32-year-old man from Whittier was arrested on multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, driving without an interlock device, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an open container.
“He was transported and booked at our sheriff’s station jail.
“Watch out for drunk drivers no matter what time of the day it is. If you see one, call 911.”
