Here is the list of Santa Clarita arts-related events for June 6 – June 9:

June 6: Western Music Association Showcase at El Trocadero Steakhouse
Time: 6:30 p.m.

Musicians and cowboy poets perform stories and songs of the romantic Old West, contemporary music of the American West, and songs of the open range and the American cowboy. To perform your Western music or poetry with them during this event, email wmacc@westernmusiccalifornia.org.

June 6: Donut – Artist Reception at Santa Clarita City Hall
Time: 7:00 p.m.

The city of Santa Clarita invites you to attend an artist reception for the latest exhibit at City Hall’s First Floor Gallery.

The donut is one of the most highly-revered American pastries. It is currently experiencing a revival as more and more specialized donut shops continue to spring up around the country offering unique flavor combinations. The history of the donut is linked to the United States making the dessert a classic American icon.

Art displayed in this exhibit features, highlights, or uses the donut as a design element in the piece. All types of art are included in the exhibition including paintings, photography, sculpture, and more!

At the reception, enjoy a variety of donut delights and coffees, live music, and meet the artists featured in the exhibition.

June 7: ARTree – Figure Drawing at ARTree Community Arts Center
Time: 6:00 p.m.

Are you an artist frustrated with the lack of opportunities to draw in Santa Clarita? Come to ARTree Community Arts Center for a chance to really explore your creative potential using a live model. Just drop in and bring a pencil and paper.

Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month, with some additional dates throughout the year.

June 7: 10 by 10: Variety Show at The MAIN
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Join us for 10 by 10, the free monthly variety show in Old Town Newhall featuring music, film, storytelling, magic, comedy and more! Presented by Valencia Auto Center, 10 by 10 occurs on the first Thursday of every month when 10 performers from a variety of genres are selected to perform a 10-minute piece of their choosing. Every month is different; you never know what you will see on stage.

Check back for details as each performance gets closer.

Interested in performing at a future 10 by 10? If so, please submit an application. All types of art forms are accepted.

June 7: JAM Session & Concert – Cha Cha Dance at Old Town Newhall Library
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Dance to the beat and experience something unexpected with JAM Sessions – fun, interactive music and dance events hosted in conjunction with the Ford Theatre Foundation. Presented by Valencia Auto Center, the evening integrates live dance instruction from professional instructors with live band performances.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a chair if you just plan on listening to the music. JAM Sessions are participatory and centered around movement and music. All JAMs are FREE, and all ages and skill levels are welcome.

June 8: In the Heights at Canyon Theatre Guild
Time: 8:00 p.m.

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. IN THE HEIGHTS is the winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations

June 9: Quilt Show – Quilting Mends the Soul at William S. Hart Park
Time: 10:00 a.m.

The Santa Clarita Valley Quilt Guild is hosting a 2-day quilt show. Members of the guild will be displaying their personal quilts for all to view. There will also be vendors, food, door prizes and a silent auction.
