LANCASTER – Lancaster’s momentum continued Saturday night with a win over Modesto, 5-1, at The Hangar.
The team’s fourth-straight win puts the JetHawks at 44-43 overall, the team’s first winning record since May 19.
Lancaster (11-6, 44-43) jumped in front with two runs in the third inning. With two outs, Carlos Herrera tripled home Max George and Colton Welker followed with an RBI single. Welker has hit in 11-straight games.
The JetHawks added three more against Modesto’s Colin Rodgers (3-5) in the fourth inning. Singles by Jacob Bosiokovic and Steven Linkous set the table for George, who cranked a three-run home run. It was the second game in a row with a home run for George, who now has ten on the season.
Heath Holder (6-0) pitched a pair of scoreless innings in relief to earn the win. Modesto (4-13, 34-53) scored it’s lone run in the sixth inning. Joe Rizzo went deep, but the Nuts were held to just three hits in the game.

Lancaster is 11-6 since the All-Star break, and the JetHawks are above .500 for the first time since the team was 22-21 May 19. The JetHawks have won 10 of 12 games against the Nuts this season.
The JetHawks go for a five-game sweep in Sunday’s finale. Antonio Santos (0-1) makes his second start for Lancaster against Modesto’s Reggie McClain (2-6). First pitch from The Hangar is at 5:05 pm.
