Air quality is very unhealthy for all residents of the Santa Clarita Valley Monday, according to an alert from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
The AQMD very unhealthy alert also includes the East San Gabriel Valley, South San Gabriel Valley, East San Fernando Valley and West San Fernando Valley.
Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive individuals in the West San Gabriel Valley, and unhealthy for all individuals in South Central Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles County Interim Health Officer Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, MD, MPH, advises people living or working in the SCV with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities.
Summer schools with children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma, and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not participate in outdoor physical activity and should stay indoors as much as possible.
