STOCKTON – Brian Serven put together one of his best offensive performances of the season to lead the JetHakwks to a 7-2 to win over the Stockton Ports on Wednesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.
Serven blasted his ninth home run and added two doubles. He scored three times. The catcher helped Lancaster (15-12, 48-49) get on the board first in the third inning with a one-out double. He came home on a Manny Melendez single.
With four one-hit innings from starter Logan Longwith in the books, Serven added to the lead with a two-run home run in the fifth. Carlos Herrera and Colton Welker added RBI-hits later in the inning.
Longwith gave up a run on a triple and single to start the fifth and came out of the game. He allowed one run on three hits over four-plus innings with five strikeouts.
Juan Pena (3-0) tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen to pick up the win.
Vince Fernandez led off the ninth with a home run to give him homers in three-consecutive games.
The series continues Thursday night. The JetHawks send Antonio Santos (1-1) to the mound opposite Kyle Friedrichs (1-0) who pitches for Stockton (15-12, 59-38). First pitch is 7:10 p.m.
