A resident called 9-1-1 Tuesday morning and reported seeing suspects allegedly breaking into vehicles in Canyon Country. The following information is from the social media account of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station:
Resident calls 9-1-1 in the early morning hours on Tuesday and reports he sees men breaking into vehicles in his Canyon Country neighborhood, off of Sierra Highway.
Deputies respond and suspect(s) take off running. A containment was set up, and deputies apprehended a total of three suspects; two males and one female. All three were in their 20’s and from the San Fernando Valley. One of the individuals was on probation for robbery.
One of the male suspects told deputies that they were going up and down the street trying door handles on vehicles. If the car was found to be unlocked, they took items. Deputies found items in their possession including multiple pairs of sunglasses and single keys. Detectives are actively working the investigation.
Good reminder to practice the #9PMRoutine when you get home for the night by removing valuables and locking your car. Don’t make it easy for thieves.
