College of the Canyons administrators alerted students and faculty Friday morning to a report of an unwanted sexual encounter Thursday in a COC restroom.
The text of the alert follows:
“Good morning –
“We want to alert you to an incident related to safety on campus.
“A young man using the men’s restroom in the Student Center at the Valencia campus on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 18 reported that a man in an adjoining stall reached under the partition, stroked his leg and made suggestive comments.
“The only description we have is that the suspect is a Caucasian male.
“The incident has been reported to Campus Safety, and the victim’s family states that the (Santa Clarita Valley) Sheriff’s Station has been notified.
“If you experience a situation such as this, or if you hear about a similar encounter, please report it immediately.
“Call the Communication Center/Mailroom at either campus and request that Campus Safety be contacted by radio to have an officer respond.
