The Santa Clarita City Council will hold its next meetings at City Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
The regular meeting starting at 6 p.m. will be preceded by a special meeting to begin at 5 p.m.
In the special meeting, council members are set to declare results of the Nov. 6 election, swear in re-elected council members Laurene Weste, Marsha McLean and Bill Miranda.
Current Mayor Laurene Weste is also expected to hand over the Mayor’s gavel to Mayor Pro-Tem Marsha McLean, and the councilmembers will choose a new Mayor Pro-Tem.
In the regular meeting, among other agenda items, council members are set for the second reading of a proposed Safe Sidewalk Vending Act; authorize the purchase of a backup battery system for traffic signals during power failures; and fund the design of an intelligent transportation system to synchronize city traffic lights along 19 key corridors at 148 intersections.
