CUPERTINO — College of the Canyons swimmer Rowdy Feather finished runner-up in the men’s 400-yard Individual Medley at the 2019 CCCAA Swim & Dive State Championships to represent the best individual finish at a state meet in program history.
Feather’s time of 4:06.09 in the 400-yard IM trailed only Jason Harary of Mt. San Antonio College who outpaced the field at 3:56.29.
The sophomore also placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.21) and ninth in the 200-yard IM (1:57.41).
Feather ends his two-year Cougar career with a pair of individual Western State Conference (WSC) titles and two state championship meet appearances.
Last month, Feather won an individual WSC championship in the 200-yard backstroke at a time of 1:54.58 to best the field by four seconds.
As a freshman in 2018 Feather won a WSC title in the 400-yard IM. At that year’s state championship meet, he placed seventh in the men’s 200y backstroke event with a then-school-record time of 1:54.08. Feather also finished 14th in the men’s 400-yard individual medley (4:15.55) and 14th in the men’s 100-yard backstroke at a time of 53.91.
He leaves the program as the winningest swimmer in men’s swim & dive program history.
