The June 25 agendas for the Santa Clarita City Council’s special and regular meetings have been released by officials.
The special meeting is set to start at 5:30 p.m. in open session. A period of public participation for agendized items will be followed by a closed session for a conference with a property negotiator.
The negotiation will be between representatives of Needham Ranch Land Company, LLC and the Santa Clarita City Manager, Ken Striplin, regarding the price and terms for a 52-acre parcel in Newhall (Assessor’s Parcels Nos. 2827-051-025, 2827-051-026, 2827-051-027 (portion), 2827-051-036 (portion), 2827-051-037 (portion), and 2827-051-060 (portion)).
Following a recess, the special meeting will reconvene in open session for an announcement by the city attorney.
The City Council’s regular meeting will follow at 6 p.m., starting with a joint meeting with Santa Clarita’s Board of Library Trustees.
Among other agenda items, the councilmembers are set to proclaim June “Pride Month” in the city; determine and approve the rates for the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Fee for Fiscal Year 2019-20; introduce and hear the first reading of a proposed recycled water regulations ordinance; make appointments to the Library Board of Trustees and award expenditure authority to selected vendors to provide books and materials for the Santa Clarita Public Library; and enter in to an agreement with Crown Castle to lease two dark fiber strands which will connect the city of Santa Clarita’s network with downtown Los Angeles with a 1Gbps or faster internet connection.
There will also be public hearings about adjustments to the city’s annual fees schedule; the annual levy of assessments for special districts; and the annual levy of assessments for the Open Space Preservation District.
